This French team demonstrated that a consistent, flawless race pays off. Abfalter's team qualified in the top ten and finished top three in each of the three sessions. Prior to the third session, Abfalter was optimistic, "No problems at all so far and I think all will be good for the last four hours. I've been racing here for 12 years and we got second two years ago. Maybe this year will be the one." And it was. Strolling toward the podium, all Abfalter could say was, "I'm very, very happy."
